This Company was created in the late 1998 to exploit the biggest wollastonite deposit in Europe, a mineral with very interesting fluxing properties, specially appreciated in the glass and ceramic industries.
It is located in Aldea del Obispo, (Salamanca) and its evaluated reserves reach 100 million mt.
Logistics
Due to the location of our mine, all the transport is done by truck to the nearby Spanish and Portuguese markets.
Quality
Following the traditional quality aim philosophy of Crimidesa Industrial Group, in order to supervise and improve our processes and to grant the homogeneity of our product range, we deeply analyze the mineral composition with our XRF devices.
Wollastonite
Uses and applications
Main applications for wollastonite are in glass, ceramic and steel industries, as well as cement industry and as an additive in paints. Presently it is considered an “echological” mineral, as its use allows to significantly reduce CO2 emissions to the atmosphere.
